As I sit down to reflect on 2024, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. This year has been nothing short of transformative, both personally and professionally. Here’s a look back at the milestones, challenges, and moments that defined this incredible year.
Embracing Change
The year began with a continuation of my maternity leave, a precious period of bonding with my daughter. Little did I know, those early months would lay the groundwork for a major life shift. After spending six unforgettable weeks in Australia as a family, I learned that a company restructuring meant I would not be returning to my previous role. This unexpected change pushed me to rethink my professional path and explore a dream that had been quietly growing in my heart.
Building Dear Gaia
That dream became Dear Gaia. The journey began with brainstorming ideas, building up a business plan, having countless discussions,and negotiating deals. Every step brought new challenges and learnings. From creating a logo and brand identity to spending endless hours building the shop and optimizing SEO, the process was both exhausting and exhilarating.
When we went live in October, the orders didn’t pour in immediately—and I had to learn patience. It’s not always easy, and there were moments of frustration, but seeing those first orders from people who weren’t family or friends was deeply fulfilling. Each order felt like a small but meaningful affirmation that this dream was worth pursuing.
Partnering with brands like Kickbag, making our first donation to an NGO, and achieving initial successes in SEO were moments that reminded me to celebrate progress, no matter how small.
Life as a Toddler Mom
On the personal front, life with a toddler has been a whirlwind. My little one is no longer a baby, and while some moments are tough, they’re also incredibly rewarding. We celebrated her first birthday this year, a beautiful reminder of how quickly time flies. I also made time for myself, catching up on missed concerts and reconnecting with friends and family.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I look to 2025, I’m filled with excitement and determination. I can’t wait to continue growing Dear Gaia, connecting with our community, and finding new ways to bring sustainable, beautiful products to families.
